If you ask Ian and Mar what rek’-lis means to them, here’s a little insight to what they would tell you.

Dreams, desires, love, adventure, creating, overcoming, faith, fear, fun! All these actions and words represent what happens when you take the true definition of reckless and take out the consequence and focus on the dream. The risk it takes to make the dream happen and the faith one has to have in themselves to take something small and exciting and turn it into a life changing endeavor! That endeavor is the outcome you may have experienced in the last couple years known as rek’- lis brewing co. 

It's truly a love story that started with two people, Ian and Marlaina, that now, has become a love beyond the realm of themselves. 

This passion and excitement is now part of a huge team that makes the rek’- lis magic. With a year around team of about 50 people, rek’- lis has been slowly but surely able to turn our mission statement, “people, planet, profit”, into a reality. 

At rek’- lis all job roles are considered a key component to opening the doors and providing the best experience possible for a bustling busy brewery and brewpub. From our dishwashers all the way to our non operational/operations managers. Each one of them, whether they have been with us from the beginning or have just arrived, put their focus into creating the best experience. If you could be a fly on the wall, what you would see is a vibe and energy that reflects those first words spoken in this note, what that looks like, servers high fiving, crew members singing out loud in the kitchen, supporting each other and most importantly, spending time outside of work having fun together in all different types of capacity.

Ian and Marlaina, and mostly because of the support of the rek’- lis team, have been able to create careers and jobs for about 30 of Bethlehem’s residents and 40 more non Bethelhem residents in the surrounding area. Jobs that can support a quality way of life. 

To sum it up, get rek’- lis! Don’t be afraid of the consequences sometimes, have faith in your vision, it may be scary, but it’ll be amazing when the vision comes to life. You can make your world a better place, now go get rek’- lis!!!
